We, workers from Mariel Container Terminal join ourselves to the celebration of this important date May 1st, being aware of the relevance of the work undertaken from different work settings, and of the efforts made to contribute to the economic development of the nation, in times marked by the scourge of a pandemic that has transformed the world.
With the slogan “United: We make Cuba”, this time the commemoration of the great meeting of the proletariat takes place virtually. On this unique day – a reason for joy and celebration – preceded by the days of the 8th Party Congress, we ratify our commitment to the revolutionary process and our willingness to move forward. Port workers continue being the protagonists of the assigned tasks, especially in moments that are as crucial as those we are living in, given the impact of COVID-19.
In the midst of this scenario, we face great challenges as part of updating the economic and social model of the socialist development, in which we are immersed in, in this decisive battle, the responsibility and commitment of the union movement is fundamental for moving forward our economy.
