MODERN TECHNOLOGY
The operating system deployed: Container Intelligent Terminal Operative System (CITOS) is comparable to those used in the most modern ports in the world. It allows the traceability of the containers, during 24 hours a day, 7 days of the week, as well as the execution of:
- Planning and automatic monitoring.
- Quay and yard operations control.
- Real time operations.
- Electronic data exchange (EDI).
- Analysis of decisions made and dully reported.
- Availability of a web portal for customers, as well as Customs’ services and Port Administration’s services, etc.
In addition, all gates are equipped with:
- Smart systems for data capture.
- Automatic Character Recognition System (OCR).
- Damage checking control (CDI).
- Front E-Plate: automatic recognition of the acronyms and numbers of vehicles’ frontal plate.
- LCD / LED display: showing the instructions to be followed by customers inside TC Mariel.
- Video-Intercom (Video Interphone): in case of bar code failure, the driver can communicate with the control center to solve the problem.
- Operator ticket printer: when the operation is validated on the system, a ticket, indicating what the driver must do inside the terminal, is printed and delivered.
Around 350 trucks are operated daily, with an average service time of approximately 45 minutes. The process is guaranteed with high levels of security, without the need for papers.
